Our Story
At Adventus Homes, we believe exceptional homes begin with exceptional people. Although Adventus Homes is a new custom home builder serving Cranbrook, Kimberley, and communities across the East Kootenays, the team behind the company brings decades of combined experience in construction, restoration, business leadership, and entrepreneurship.
Founded by Colin Sinclair, Dustin Willoughby, and Derek Broda, Adventus Homes was built on a shared commitment to quality craftsmanship, strong relationships, and creating homes that are both functional and timeless.
Colin Sinclair brings a strong leadership and business background to Adventus Homes. Originally from Brooks, Alberta, Colin moved to Cranbrook as a member of the WHL Kootenay ICE organization before continuing on to a professional hockey career throughout Canada and internationally from 2003–2010. During that time, he earned both an undergraduate degree in Business and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Over the past 16 years as a business owner and entrepreneur, Colin has developed extensive experience in finance, operations, accounting, and business management, helping guide Adventus Homes with a client-focused and strategic approach.
Derek Broda is the owner and operator of Fisher Peak Restoration and a partner in Fisher Peak Construction & Renovations. Derek brings more than two decades of restoration and renovation experience to the Adventus Homes team. He began his career in Ottawa, Ontario, working on everything from residential projects to major disaster response efforts, including Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. After operating his own renovation company for 11 years, Derek relocated to the East Kootenays where he continues to lead projects with a strong focus on craftsmanship, professionalism, and problem-solving. He holds certifications in WRT, AMRT, FSRT, asbestos safety, First Aid, and CPR.
Dustin Willoughby is the owner and operator of Fisher Peak Construction & Renovations and partners with Derek through Fisher Peak Restoration. Dustin has spent the past decade serving homeowners and businesses throughout the East Kootenays with trusted residential and commercial construction services. A Red Seal certified carpenter with additional plumbing apprenticeship experience, Dustin also holds multiple industry certifications including WRT, AMRT, asbestos awareness, First Aid, and CPR. Known for his hands-on approach and attention to detail, Dustin is committed to delivering projects built with quality, integrity, and care.
